I’ll have to think about this one, alto . But your quote reminded me of quote from my father, oft repeated to enforce his waspy rules of comport: What? A public display of emotion like a common bricklayer?

Gosh. Wouldn’t want to be like those emotionally ungovernable bricklayers, now would we?

Nothing like wrapping up a double whammy of lessons in classism and emotional suppression in a few words.
