I know physical pain makes me grouchy and less tolerant of things that would otherwise slide on by. But to initiate pain in others? I think that requires a certain type of character and some underlying psycological pain.

I think my uncle’s pain was more thsn physical. I think he deeply resented his condition, and that’s understandable. But it requires a certain mindset to do what he did.

Hmmm… I think I understand what you’re saying; and the kind you are talking about: I think the person is ignorant even of the fact that he/she has that underlying pain within.
